What Have We Been Up To?
Well, we’re wrapping up our most recent project, our kitchen renovation. Our goal was to try to use as many environmental products as we could, keep the design fun and functional while remaining within our budget.
The shades of green on this project include:
- Reuse of existing cabinetry to make new -
CabinetPak Kitchens - Forbo – Marmoleum Bulletin Board
- Aura – Low VOC Paint, Benjamin Moore
- Glass Cabinet Inserts
- GE – Energy Star Rated Appliances

The kitchen looks great! I’m embarking on some home improvement projects and want to be as gren as possible within a moderate budget. In researching paint, I wondered if using low-VOC or non-VOC paint over existing old paint defeats the non VOC benefit… I can’t seem to find any answers online. Any help?
